Dubai stop-over

5am, Dubai airport. Temperature: 32 degrees!!! Too hot to move actually. Cold water in the shower?? Haha, would be nice … so it has to be a hot shower. Then a little nap, during the flight I couldn’t get much sleep. This time I wasn’t lucky to get a whole row for myself. I’m coming home …

It’s been almost a year now when I took off in Munich, off to Australia, not knowing exactly what to exspect. And now there are only a few weeks left before my plane departs from Melbourne. Monday 4. June in the evening I’ll enter the plane; after a short stop over in Dubai I’ll be back in Germany on Wednesday 6. June and back in Konstanz probably on the 7th.
As usually after such stays, you never quite know whether you’re sad or happy – I reckon I’ll be both. Happy ‘cos finally I’ll have my friends, family and the alps (you wouldn’t believe how much you can miss them, just the view) nearby; sad, because obviously there are quite a few things to be left behind, things and people that I’ve become fond of over the last year …

Gallery: trouble, soultions and an update

Being on leave for a few days is enough to stuff the whole system up – sorry for the inconveniences with my gallery. I made a mistake when I tried to update the script and since I spent one week in the Blue Mountains I hadn’t been able to fix it before yesterday. But now everything should work fine again and as a compensation there’s a whole bunch of new pictures from my trip! A report will follow soon | See the pictures …

The Lactic Factory Boulder Competition 2007, Round 1

The Lactic FactoryLast Saturday the annual boulder competition at The Lactic Factory started again. I hadn’t been climbing for about two months beforehand, thus my ecpectations were not very high. However, it went quite well and a 7th place in the ranking among 24 other competitiors was definitely a surprising result. I even made it onto the starting page of The Lactic Factory!
